Brief Thoughts on "Pokémon Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution," "Pokémon Detective Pikachu" Coming Soon to Digital, DVD and Blu-Ray.
Hello everyone. Happy Independence Day to my readers in the US. As I am about to go out of town, here are some brief thoughts on "Pokémon Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution" before I leave and work on other material.
The film is a remake of "Pokémon Mewtwo Strikes Back," and the first all-CGI movie in the franchise. While I admit the designs of the human characters is taking some getting used to, the Pokémon and battles do look very slick. The film is also being screened early at this year's Anime Expo in Los Angeles; ahead of a potential English release later this year. I certainly hope it's good; all things considered. It's honestly amazing how far CGI has come in filmmaking over the last two decades alone. Just compare Sid's dog, Scud in the first Toy Story to the CGI cat in the latest installment that just came out to get another clear picture. The newest trailer also is set to the song "Let Me Love You" by Rita Ora. The singer and actress had previously contributed the song "Carry On" to "Pokémon Detective Pikachu" earlier this year, and also had a small role as Dr. Ann Laurent in the movie.
On that note, "Pokémon Detective Pikachu" will also be released on digital platforms for download on July 23; and then on DVD and Blu-Ray on August 6. I have already preordered my copy, and as someone who loved the movie; I will be eager to tell you more in my full review. Though some developments have been quiet as of late, I will bring you any more information about the series as I get it. That will be all for now, I will talk you later.
