Pokémon Sword and Shield (2019) Thoughts.
Hey fellas, as I work on more material for this blog; I thought I would give you my thoughts on Pokémon Sword and Shield, which were revealed in a livestream on February 27; slated for release later this year on the Nintendo Switch. The games will take place in the Galar region, which is based heavily on England and the surrounding areas.
As someone who has enjoyed the series for ages, I am definitely interested in the prospect. Even though the initial reveal only showed off a little bit, it is consistent with what the company has been saying since they started development. I definitely like the visual style and how the game will make use of the Switch's technology, combining more stylized characters with realistic environments. I submit that Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee were like a test run to get used to the console's architecture.
As for the starters, my plan is this: I plan to start with Scorbunny in Sword, and call that one Jazz. I don't know what will happen with the stage 1 and 2 forms; but a jackrabbit that can set things on fire with its feet is already something I can get behind. I will start with Sobble in Shield, calling that one Mondo Gecko if it's male and Tsuyu Asui if it's female. As for Grookey: if I get one, I will call it Funky Kong if it's male and Candy Kong if it's female. They will definitely be welcome company for Pikachu, Minccino and my personal favorite, Lucario. While there is still much to be revealed, I am very excited about what they will do with the story and gameplay, and I will bring you any new information as I get it. I will definitely preorder my copies when I get an official release date beyond the placeholder of "Holiday 2019." That will be all for now. Later.
